An original background with sculptural design was created on paper using ink. The subject was then photographed in a variety of poses in front of the background to maintain scale and space within the image. Work was done to clean, tone and create a finished photograph with the subject part of the sculptural design. That photograph was then meticulously hand painted digitally using pen and tablet in photoshop. The final version of the painted photograph was then printed on a fine art cotton paper with the texture of a traditional etching board and ideal for the soft tints and grey nuances present in the image. This repeated transition between differnt mediums and from physical to digital and back to physical represents the theme of the show Medium(s).
