Side Street Studio Arts' COLLECTIONS is a temporary art installation featuring a variety of media whose subject matter is found objects, keepsake documents, antiques, or anything gathered. From dollhouses to breakables to collections featured within artworks, COLLECTIONS has transformed the GALLERY at Side Street.

Work will be on display from March 17 - April 2, 2017.

This piece is a symbol of the archives and drawers of photographic dance prints that have accumulated over the years in an interesting and provoking manner. The collection of prints, photographs taken for one purpose, printed for another and yet become only a collection.

This collection of jars helps us belong in the world by taking on the essential properties of what we want. It does not matter, as long as it is endowed with purpose. In a sense, a thing is not itself until it contains what we want. The dancer helps the jar to differentiate it from all that it is not. A thing’s use is external to its nature, such is a collection.
